For 2017 to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of Pistrucci's Reverse St George and the Dragon Design from 1817, the Royal Mint released a special Limited Issue United Kingdom 2017 Sovereign Coin Range. All the 2017 Gold Proof Sovereign Coins have been struck in solid 22 Carat Gold to the Royal Mint's meticulous Proof quality and all the Boxed Sovereigns are presented with Individually Numbered Certificate of Authenticity with very small Limited Mintages making this years 2017 Sovereign a must for any collector. The design is only available on the Gold Proof Sovereigns and will not be available on the Gold Bullion Sovereigns. |
