The British Monarchs Collection celebrates legendary Kings and Queens of the United Kingdom with each coin bearing an original coinage portrait of a monarch as it appeared during their reign, transposed from genuine historical samples using state-of-the-art technology and faithfully recreated for contemporary coinage.
This innovative, five-year series will feature 21 Monarchs in total, featuring iconic Kings and Queens from four Royal Houses: Tudor, Stuart, Hanoverian and Windsor, formerly known as Saxe-Coburg-Gotha.
Each year will see the launch of several new coins, released sequentially in January, March, June and September*.
The first coin in the British Monarchs Coin Collection designed by Alexander of Bruchsal features an original portrait of King Henry VII struck in proof quality which accentuates the details and enhances the overall aesthetics whilst the obverse depicts the fifth portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
