For 2017, to celebrate the 1000th Anniversary of the Coronation of King Canute the Viking conqueror hailed the first King of England, the Royal Mint have released a special range of Limited Issue Coins minted in Gold Proof, Piedfort Proof, Silver Proof and Brilliant Uncirculated condition. The reverse designed by Lee R. Jones depicts a portrait of King Canute while the obverse design features the Fifth Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Jody Clark. |
