In 2006 the Perth Mint was commissioned to launch a special series of coins to celebrate the Deadly and Dangerous species of Australia. The first in the Deadly and Dangerous Coin Series was the Red-Backed Spider in full colour with a denomination of $1 One Dollar on behalf of the issuing country of Tuvalu, struck in solid fine .999 Silver weighing one ounce of pure Silver and has been struck every year since. |
