British Britannia Platinum Coins
| In 2007 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the First Britannia Coin, the Royal Mint for the first time released a Limited Issue Britannia Platinum Proof Coin Range struck in solid fine 999.5 Platinum. Named after the symbolic figure of Britannia, who graces the reverse design, the coins are available in four denominations: £100 One Hundred Pound Coin, £50 Fifty Pound Coin, £25 Twenty Five Pound Coin, £10 Ten Pound Coin. The largest of these coins contains 1oz of fine Platinum, with the lower denominations containing 1/2 ounce, 1/4 ounce, 1/10 ounce. For 2008 they issued a Platinum Proof Four Coin Set, £25 Twenty Five Pound Coin and £10 Ten Pound Coins and then stopped and restarted in 2017, 2018, 2019, 2020, 2021 and 2022 a Britannia £25 Twenty Five Pound Coin. |
