In 2021 to celebrate the 250th Anniversary of the Birth of Sir Walter Scott, the Royal Mint released a Limited Issue Sir Walter Scott £2 Two Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM with special NFC Anti-Counterfeiting Technology.
The reverse designed by Stephen Raw features Sir Walter Scott Novelist, Historian, Poet
with an edge inscription of "THE WILL TO DO, THE SOUL TO DARE" while the obverse depicts the Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
