In 2020 for the first time ever, the Perth Mint released a very Limited Issue Piedfort Sovereign $50 Fifty Dollar Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold to a High Relief.
The reverse design portrays St Edwards Crown, a laurel wreath, Australia and historic elements of Leonard Charles Wyon's original Type I reverse. The obverse features the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
Also included to celebrate the 165th anniversary of the Sydney Type I reverse a 165 Privy Mark. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
