In 2019, to commemorate the 350th Anniversary of the Last Diary Entry of Samuel Pepys, the Royal Mint is releasing a Limited Issue Samuel Pepys £2 Two Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold.
The reverse designed by Gary Breeze depicts a page from his diary while the obverse features the Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
