2018 Paddington at the Station 50p Gold Proof Coin PCGS PR69 DCAM
In 2018 to celebrate the 60th Anniversary of Paddington Bear, the Royal Mint released a special Limited Issue Paddington Bear at Paddington Station 50p Fifty Pence Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.
The reverse designed by David Knapton features Paddington wearing his famous duffle coat and battered old bush hat at the train station where he first meets The Browns, the family that take him in.
This is where his story begins. He takes a journey across the sea tucked away in a lifeboat and eating marmalade sandwiches until he finds himself amid the hustle and bustle of London, while the obverse features the Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark .
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
