In 2016 the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Premium St George and the Dragon Gold Proof Sovereign 3 Coin Set struck in solid 22 Carat Gold and includes the £2 Two Pound Double Sovereign Coin, Full Sovereign Coin and Half Sovereign Coins.

The set is housed in a handsome walnut-veneer presentation case and is accompanied by an individually numbered Certificate of Authenticity signed by the Chief Executive of the Royal Mint.

Each of the 22 Carat Gold Proof Sovereigns features the legendary St George and the Dragon reverse designed by Benedetto Pistrucci, together with the portrait of Her Majesty, The Queen by James Butler on the obverse to commemorate the Queens 90th Birthday.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
