For 2016 the Royal Mint released it's yearly Limited Issue Britannia £50 Fifty Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid fine .9999 Gold weighing one half of an ounce of pure Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.

The reverse designed by Suzie Zamit features Britannia with Trident and Shield with a Lion at her feet while the obverse design depicts Jody Clark's Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
