In 2015 for the first time ever, Plastic Polymer Banknotes are entering circulation in Scotland introduced by Clydesdale Bank to commemorate the 125th Anniversary of the Fourth Rail Bridge.
The reverse of the Polymer Banknote depicts the Fourth Rail Bridge while the obverse features a portrait of Sir William Arrol, whose company was responsible for the bridge's construction.
The £5 Five Pound Polymer Banknote has also been signed byDavid Thorburn Chief Executive of Clydesdale Bank.
