In 2015 the Perth Mint released a special Limited Issue Mother of Pearl $1 One Dollar Silver Proof Coin struck in fine .999 Silver weighing one ounce of pure Silver Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM.
The reverse designed by Natasha Muhl depicts a sculpted representation of an Australian White Mother of Pearl shell with a polished fragment of mother-of-pearl centerpiece, against a rippled pattern representing the ocean floor. The obverse design features Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
