In 2012 to celebrate the 200th Anniversary of the Birth of Charles Dickens, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Charles Dickens £2 Two Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold.
The reverse designed by Matthew Dent has been created from the titles of Dickens famous Works from his early writings 'Sketches by Boz' to his final unfinished novel 'The mystery of Edwin Drood'.
The obverse features the stunning Fourth Portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
