In 2008, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Proof 11 Coin collection which contains Proof specimens of the circulating range of United Kingdom Coins.
Included in this set is two new commemorative £5 Five Pound Coins, one marking the 450th Anniversary of the Accession of Elizabeth I and another celebrating the 60th Birthday of HRH Prince Charles of Wales.
It also contains two bi-colour £2 Two Pound Coins: the standard version with it's reverse symbolic of technological progress and a special commemorative coin recalling the Olympic Games held in London in 1908.
The £1 One Pound Coin bears the Royal Arms with the lion and unicorn supporters, a design which appeared on the first modern £1 One Pound Coin at its introduction in 1983.
Also included is the Britannia 50p Fifty Pence, Tudor Rose 20p Twenty Pence, Crowned Lion 10p Ten Pence, Crowned Thistle 5p Five Pence, Prince of Wales 2p Two Pence and Portcullis 1p One Pence Coins.
The obverse of all the coins have the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
