In 2008 to celebrate the Centenary of the first Olympic Games held in London, the Royal Mint released a Limited Issue Brilliant Uncirculated Centenary £2 Two Pound Coin First Day Cover in celebration of the sporting achievements of the athletes who competed at that 4th Olympiad.
This £2 Two Pound Coin features a special reverse design by Royal Mint Engraver, Thomas T Docherty and shows a running track as the central image and the anniversary date of 1908. The obverse is the stunning portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
