In 2008 to commemorate the Last of the Emblems of Britain Coinage, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Britannia 50p Fifty Pence Platinum Proof Coin struck in solid fine .999 Platinum and Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.
The reverse is a standing portrait of Britannia and the obverse design is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
