In 2008 to celebrate the 5th Anniversary of the decommissioning of Concorde, the Royal Mint released a special Limited Issue Concorde £10 Ten Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver weighing five ounces of Silver.
The reverse design of the coin shows Concorde enclosed within a pattern of concentric circles a representative of the sonic boom produced when she exceeds the speed of sound.
The obverse carries Ian Rank-Broadley's portrait of the Queen.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
