In 2007 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the first Britannia, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Britannia £1 One Pound Silver Matte Proof Coin struck in solid .958 Silver and weighing one half of an ounce of pure Silver and depicts the sixth Britannia design from 2007 Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.
The 2007 Britannia remains faithful to her character yet gives her a contemporary air. In the familiar pose, she sits with a watchful lion at her feet and, in the distance, a shoreline of cliffs.
The obverse designed by Ian Rank Broadley is the stunning effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
