In 2007 to celebrate the 20th Anniversary of the first Britannia, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Britannia £1 One Pound Silver Matte Proof Coin struck in solid .958 Silver and weighing one half of an ounce of pure Silver and depicts the fourth Britannia design from 2003 Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.
This 2007 Britannia depicts the Britannia from 2003 which has a lovely profile portrait of a helmeted Britannia and was allowed to fill the entire field on her fourth portrait by Nathan in 2003 while, emphasising her long association with the sea, a flowing wave pattern is superimposed over the entire design.
The obverse designed by Ian Rank Broadley is the stunning effigy of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
