In 2006 to celebrate the 80th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Queens 80th Birthday £5 Five Pound Proof Coin.
The reverse design is a fanfare of regal trumpets with the inscription 'Vivat Regina' with the dates '1926' and '2006' designed by Danuta Solowiej Wedderburn while the obverse design is a regal portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank Broadley. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
