In 2006 the Royal Mint released a Limited Issue Britannia Chariot £25 Twenty Five Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold and weighing one quarter of an ounce of pure Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM.
The reverse designed by Philip Nathan depicts a new dramatic design featuring a majestic figure of Britannia standing proud and bold in her Chariot, being drawn along the seashore by two mighty horses.
The obverse features Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty, Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
