In 2005 to commemorate the 200th Anniversary of Horatio Nelson's Death, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Horatio Nelson £5 Five Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM with special NFC Anti-Counterfeiting Technology.
In the center of the reverse is a portrait of Horatio Nelson dated '1805' and '2005' designed by James Butler and the obverse shows a regal portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
