In 2003 to celebrate the Final Flight of Concorde and almost three decades of supersonic travel, released a special Limited Issue Concorde Gold Proof Commemorative struck in solid fine .999 Gold Weighing Five Ounces of solid pure Gold.
On October 2003, Concorde makes her final flight. For twenty seven years the supersonic aircraft has fascinated people around the world and it was a sad day when British Airways and Air France announced that she would be permanently grounded from Autumn 2003, bringing to an end a significant chapter in the history of aviation. The obverse shows Concorde in flight which has been colourised.
The certificate has been signed in ink by Captain Jock Lowe who was chief Concorde Pilot and Commercial Manager between 1991-1996.
