In 2003, to celebrate the 21st Birthday of Prince William of Wales, the Royal Mint released this very special Limited Issue Prince William £50 Fifty Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .999 Silver and weighing one Kilo of solid pure Silver.
The reverse has been designed by David Cornell and is a portrait of Prince William alongside his Coat of Arms and the obverse is a portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Raphael Maklouf. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
