In 2000 the United States Mint released a very Limited Issue Liberty Eagle $10 Ten Dollar Platinum Proof Coin struck in solid .9995 Platinum weighing one tenth of an ounce of pure Platinum and Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM.
The reverse design depicts a Bald Eagle flying above a Midwestern field, barn and house while the obverse depicts Liberty in all her glory designed by Al Maletsky.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
