In 2000 the South African Mint released a very Limited Issue Tenth Krugerrand Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold weighing one tenth of an ounce of pure Gold.
The reverse of the coin designed by Coert Steynberg depicts a Springbok Antelope one of the national symbols of South Africa and the obverse has the portrait of Paul Kruger.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
