In 2000 to celebrate the Millennium, the Royal Mint on behalf of Armenia released a very Limited Issue Octagonal 2000 Two Thousand Dram Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.
The reverse modelled in the Royal Mint Engraving Department depicts a stylised interpretation of St George and the Dragon, allegorically epitomising the triumph of good and evil. The obverse design is the Coat of Arms of Armenia. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
