In 2000 to celebrate the Millennium, the South African Mint released a very Limited Issue Prestige Krugerrand Gold Proof 2 Coin Set and includes two one-tenth of an ounce Gold Proof Krugerrand Coins dated 1999 and 2000.

The reverse of the coins designed by Coert Steynberg depicts a Springbok Antelope one of the national symbols of South Africa and the obverse of all the coins have the portrait of Paul Kruger.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
