In 1998, the United States Mint released a Limited Issue Liberty Eagle $10 Ten Dollar Gold Proof Coin weighing one quarter of an ounce of pure Gold and has been Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.
The coin features a design symbolic of Liberty on the obverse.
On the reverse is a design representing a family of eagles, with the male eagle carrying an olive branch and flying above a nest containing a female eagle and hatchlings.
The coins have the inscription of the denominations, the weight of the gold content, the year of minting of issuance, the words 'Liberty' and 'In God We Trust, United States of America, and a reeded edge, as stipulated by Law.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
