In 1998 to celebrate the 50th Birthday of Prince Charles of Wales, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Prince Charles £5 Five Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM.

The reverse is designed by Michael Noakes and features a portrait of the Prince of Wales with key words relating to the work of The Trust in the background.
Gracing the obverse of the Fiftieth Birthday Crown is the new effigy of Her Majesty the Queen by sculptor and medallist Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
