In 1994 to celebrate the Lion, the South African Mint released a very Limited Issue Natura Lion Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 24 Carat Gold weighing one tenth of an ounce of pure Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.
The obverse design of the Natura Lion Gold Proof Coin depicts a male Lion's profile of its head while the reverse design shows a family scene, a male, lioness and cubs. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
