The 1887 - 2002 Golden Jubilee Gold Sovereign Coin Collection struck in solid 22 Carat Gold celebrates the Queen‘s Golden Jubilee and forms a pleasing numismatic link with Queen Victoria‘s Golden Jubilee.
Comprising four Gold Coins, the Collection includes the Full and Half Gold Sovereigns from 1887 and 2002.
The obverse of the two Gold Sovereign Coins of 1887 feature the portrait of Queen Victoria created by Edgar Boehm, whilst two designs appear on their reverse: the Full Sovereign bears St George and The Dragon by Benedetto Pistrucci, whilst the Half Sovereign shows the Shield of the Royal Arms.
The two Gold Sovereign Coins of 2002 feature the Queen's portrait by Ian Rank-Broadley, whilst on each reverse is the Crowned Shield of the Royal Arms, within a wreath of laurel, a special commemorative reverse design based on the Victorian Shield Sovereigns and re-drawn by Timothy Noad, a herald painter at the College of Arms.
