For 2013, for the first time ever the Royal Mint released the Britannia 10p Ten Pence Silver Proof Coin struck in solid fine .999 Silver weighing one twentieth of an ounce of pure Silver Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR70 DCAM First Strike.
The reverse designed by Robert Hunt depicts Britannia facing left as is traditional, but turns her upper body in a listening pose with an Owl perched on her knee which is a traditional symbol of wisdom.
The obverse design has Ian Rank Broadley's portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
