For 2011 the Royal Australian Mint released a very Limited Issue Rams Head $10 Ten Dollar Gold Proof Coin struck in solid fine .9999 Gold weighing one-tenth of an ounce of pure Gold.
The reverse designed by G. K. Gray celebrates the Merino Rams Head that graced the Australian shilling from 1938 until 1963. The original design was modelled on a grand champion Merino at the Annual Sydney Sheep Show in 1932, considered to be unmatched in the position of its head and horns.
Named Uadry 0.1 after its home station, it became known as the Shilling Ram and represented Australia's growing wool industry. The obverse has the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
