In 2009 to celebrate the Lunar Year of the Ox, the Bank of China released a special Limited Issue Gold and Silver 2 Coin Set.
The set includes the Lunar Ox 50 Fifty Yuan Gold Proof Coin struck in solid fine .999 Gold weighing one tenth of an ounce of pure Gold and the Lunar Ox 10 Yuan Silver Proof Coin struck in solid fine .999 Silver weighing one ounce of pure Silver.
The reverse of both coins depict the Lunar Ox while the obverse features the National Emblem of China.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
