In 2006 to celebrate the 80th Birthday of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue 80th Birthday £5 Five Pound Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by PCGS as PR69 DCAM.

The reverse design is a fanfare of regal trumpets with the inscription 'Vivat Regina' with the dates '1926' and '2006' designed by Danuta Solowiej Wedderburn.
The obverse design is a regal portrait of Queen Elizabeth II designed by Ian Rank Broadley.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
