As an elected Fellow of the Society of Scribes and Illuminators, Timothy Noad is a Highly respected and internationally recognised heraldic artist and calligrapher.
In his new design for 2005, he concentrated on the drama between the protagonists: St George, his horse and the dragon.
As a heraldic artist, he felt it was important to make St George's shield the focal point of the design. With the dragon allowing some artistic freedom, the details of St George's shield and horse's anatomy enabled him to represent them in a convincing yet stylised way.
