In 1999 the South African Mint released a Limited Issue Krugerrand Gold Proof 4 Coin Set and includes the 1oz, 1/2oz, 1/4oz and 1/10oz Coins all struck in solid 22 Carat Gold.
The reverse of the coins designed by Coert Steynberg depicts a Springbok Antelope one of the national symbols of South Africa and the obverse of all the coins have the portrait of Paul Kruger.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
