In 2020 for the third time ever, the Royal Mint released the Britannia £500 Five Hundred Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid fine .999 Silver and weighing one kilo of pure Silver.
The reverse designed by James Tottle features Britannia facing into the wind with a Trident planted into the rocks as the waves crash around her.
On her arm she holds a shield featuring the head of a lion while the obverse features the Fifth Portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Jody Clark.
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
