In 2013 to celebrate the 350th Anniversary of first Guinea, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Guinea £2 Two Pound Proof Coin.
The reverse designed by Anthony Smith ARBS depicts a Spade Guinea inspired by the famous Spade Guineas of George III. The obverse design is the stunning portrait of Queen Elizabeth II by Ian Rank Broadley. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
