In 2013 the Royal Mint launched a new series of coins with a theme of British Floral and released a special Limited Issue Brilliant Uncirculated Floral £1 One Pound 2 Coin Set and is the first two in a series of 4 coins.
The reverse of the first £1 One Pound Coin designed by Timothy Noad depicts a Rose for the Royal Badge of England and Oak an unofficial symbol of English vigour and also of the Royal Navy, while the reverse of the second coin depicts the Welsh Leek and Daffodil.
The obverse of both coins depict Ian Rank Broadley's stunning portrait of Queen Elizabeth II.
