In 2005, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Proof 12 Coin collection which contains Proof specimens of the circulating range of coinage of the United Kingdom.
Included in the set are the Horatio Nelson and Battle of Trafalgar £5 Five Pound Coins, the 2005 £2 Two Pound and 50p Fifty Pence Coins celebrating respectively the 400th Anniversary of the Gunpowder Plot and the 250th Anniversary of the publication of Samuel Johnson's dictionary.
The 2005 £1 One Pound coin, the second in a series of four featuring bridges from the constituent parts of the United Kingdom, represents Wales and features the Menai Straits Bridge.
Also included is the £1 One Pound, 50p Fifty Pence, 20p Twenty Pence, 10p Ten Pence, 5p Five Pence, 2p Two Pence and 1p One Pence Coins
These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
