In 2004 to commemorate the 60th Anniversary of D-Day, the Royal Mint on behalf of Guernsey released a very special Limited Issue £10 Ten Pound Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver weighing five ounces of Silver.
The reverse design depicts the D-Day Landings while the obverse has the stunning portrait of Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II by Raphael Maklouf. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
