2002 Golden Jubilee Maundy 4D Gold Proof Coin NGC PF70 Ultra Cameo
In 2002 to celebrate the Queens Golden Jubilee, the Royal Mint released a very Limited Issue Maundy 4D Four Pence Gold Proof Coin struck in solid 22 Carat Gold Certified Slabbed and Graded by NGC as PF70 Ultra Cameo.
The reverse design depicts a crowned numeral in a wreath of oak leaves while the obverse depicts the stunning young head portrait of Elizabeth II by Mary Gillick.
Maundy Money, legally called "the Queen's Maundy Money" is a welcoming British coinage given to deserving poor people in a religious ceremony performed, in many periods with the participation of the monarch, on Maundy Thursday, the Thursday before Easter.
