In 1995 to celebrate the 50th Anniversary of the United Nations, the Royal Mint on behalf of Jordan released a very Limited Issue Black Iris 5 Five Dinars Silver Proof Coin struck in solid .925 Sterling Silver.
The reverse features the Black Iris flower Jordan's National Flower while the obverse depicts the magnificent portrait of Jordan's reigning monarch King Hussein who at 17 years old was proclaimed King in 1952. These legal tender coins have been struck to proof quality using specially prepared dies and highly polished blanks.
